About the Vietnamese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and the National Ultrasound Congress
The Vietnamese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (VSUM) was established in 2016, with an Executive Board of professors and physicians from many leading medical institutions nationwide. Over the past 10 years of operation, VSUM has affirmed its pioneering role in developing the ultrasound in medicine specialty in Vietnam, while also expanding international cooperation with prestigious organisations such as AFSUMB, ISUOG and WFUMB.
Over the years, the annual National Ultrasound Congress series has become a prestigious scientific forum for updating knowledge, sharing experience and promoting research cooperation. In addition, VSUM regularly organises continuing training courses, as well as carrying out meaningful community activities nationwide:
- Donating ultrasound machines to medical facilities in remote and disadvantaged areas;
- Supporting remote consultation to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment;
- Providing funding for young physicians to take part in training, research and scientific reporting.
The 9th National Congress of Vietnamese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine - VSUM 9 marks 10 years since the founding and development of the Vietnamese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, and will take place under the theme: "Ultrasound in Medicine in the Era of Artificial Intelligence". The event is expected to attract about 1000 delegates, who are physicians and experts from Vietnam and abroad. This will be an opportunity to present and discuss the latest advances in applying artificial intelligence to ultrasound in medicine, expand international cooperation, connect research and training networks, and affirm VSUM's position in bringing Vietnamese ultrasound into deeper integration with the world.
